My name is Bernhard and I write this blog.
For years, I worked as a tour guide in Berlin — and I’ll never forget that time. I’ve always loved history, loved the English language (I hold an M.A. and an M.Ed.), and I’ve always loved Berlin.
These days, life has taken a different turn. I’m a teacher now, so I no longer lead tours. But the great part is that I still get to follow the same passions — I teach English and history.
There’s just one thing I genuinely miss: the chance to meet people from all over the world.
I’ve always enjoyed those moments of connection — exchanging ideas, hearing different perspectives, and sharing the kind of common ground that brings people together, no matter where they’re from.
That’s what this blog is about — a way to reconnect, to keep those conversations going, and to stay open to the world.
And since I still love to travel — and the tour guide in me is very much alive — let me take you on a different kind of tour….
